Any news in your family?

Just wanted let you know if there is any news in your family...please let me. I can post the news on the blog for you. It doesn't have to be very recent. Maybe something that happen last year!



This is a picture of my parents, Charles & Margaret Kay. My brother Andy had came home in March 2008 to visit. We just found out recently his wife and him are expecting their first child in late December 2008.

September 13, 2008 has arrived!

Well the big day for the 100th Smith Reunion had finally arrived! The day was full of surprises and family members came from everywhere! We had a total of 56 family members in attendance! This was very overwhelming but I was very thankful everyone came!



The forecast for the day was going to be a wet one for the most part! We woke up to our basement had flooded and soon discovered the sub pump was temporary not working! My husband Bill put fans in doorways to start drying the basement out.



My son Travis and I got to the Kendallville area and discovered we did not get the drinks out of my car for the reunion. So we made a quick trip to Wal-Mart, Kendallville to pick some up. The rain did not stop and soon my son's windshield wipers came apart, so we made a quick stop into the Albion Auto Parts Store to get some.



I want to thank Suzanne Frumin for bringing her tripod and camera for the group picture. I was very thankful when I heard this news! As soon as she email the picture. I will post it on the blog and put it in the newspapers.



Trevor Tipton did a excellent job on his presentation findings on our family history. Everyone reminisced memories from the past.



--Oldest Man attending was Bob Berkes from Gordonville, Texas.

--Oldest Woman attending was Mary Berkes from Albion, Indiana.

--Youngest Boy attending was Gavin Kay from Ft Wayne, Indiana.

--Youngest Girl attending was Maddie Kay from Ft Wayne, Indiana.

--Newest Couple married was Steve and Deonna Riccus from South Milford, Indiana (5 months)

--Longest Couple married was Gwen and John Tipton from Kendallville, Indiana (59 years)

--The Award for the most children/grandchildren/great grandchildren combine went to Allan Berkes family with 20. Bob Berkes did officially win this with 64, but was generously gave the award to Allan Berkes. Thanks Bob!!

--The Family who traveled the farthest for the 100th Reunion went to Bob and Kathy Berkes from Gordonville, Texas.

Everyone enjoyed the food and fellowship with other family members.

Reunion news

We are hoping we have a good turn out for the Smith Reunion this year. If anyone has email, please contact us. This would help greatly on the postage bill.

We are going to play Bingo and we are asking everyone to bring a White Elephant Prize for this.
Prizes will also be given out for who traveled the farthest, oldest man, oldest woman, youngest boy and youngest girl and more surprises too.

2008 Smith Reunion is coming!!!

2008 Smith Reunion Date

Just wanted to let everyone know, I have the Wolf Lake Park Parvillon reserved for September 13, 2008 Saturday!

Mark your calendars and let other family members know if they do not have internet connection. I will be sending out reminders in the next couple of months.
