Stone Trace Event

Stone's Trace Historical Society members will be hosting an Open House on Saturday May 1 from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday May 2 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. This is in conjunction with the Convention and Visitors Bureau's Noble County Open House weekend!

Come take a look at the tavern and grounds at your own pace! Delicious homemade pies will be served for a donation and historical society members will be on hand to answer questions you may have.

So plan to take a drive the weekend of May 1 and 2 to see what Noble County has to offer- more than you may think!

Note--I found this invite on Facebook that Stone's Trace has their page. I wanted to pass it on to family members, so you attend this event too. We are planning the Smith Family Workshop at the Albion Library, 8:30 to 12:00 pm, May 1st Saturday, to gather family information for the booklet.

We have a Famous Writer in our Family!!!

I received this email from Donna Berkes this past week. I contacted her and asked if I could post this article on the Smith blog. Below is the article------

Some of you know this, others don't. When I returned home from NY, I sent an e-mail about my day. I assume recipents sent it to their friends, etc. Anyway in Sept 2002 the Smithsonian contacted me as asked if they could post it in their Stories of Survival for the anniversary. I said 'of course'. The next year I published it in our Arizona Paralegal Assn newsletter. Later I was contacted by the Library of Congress who asked if they could archive it in their catalog of 9-11 stories. Who ever thought I would be in the Library of Congress. If you are not able to open the article by clicking, you may copy it and put it in your web search box. Or you may Goggle my name, Donna R. Berkes(be sure to include the 'R' or it will not come up).
